Oral Feedback Checklists

The following model illustrates a best practice feedback process.  Prepare… prepare… prepare (NB – When working with personality tools be able to describe both poles appropriately)

Collaborative Introduction

√     How did they find it?

√     Describe the tool and its limits

√     What they hope/expect for from the feedback? (Goals)

Discussing Reality- Giving the feedback

√     You described yourself ….accurate adverb and scale description

√     Check positive meanings- How does that work for you?

√     Summarise their understanding linking with goals/expectations

 Options Coaching (stretching awareness and planning next steps)

√     Are there situations in which you need to be more?

√     Summarise

√     What steps could you take?

√     Ask them to summarise

√     Conclude
